Lördag 11 Oktober 

 

Herr A -  Vindrarps VK
Resultat: 3-1 till Göteborg

Herr A inledde dagen med en stark insats mot Vindrarp. De två första seten vann Göteborg med 25–19 och 25–18. I tredje set tappade laget något i fokus och förlorade med 19-25, men kom tillbaka och säkrade vinsten i fjärde set.

 

 Matchens spelare: Albin Tholin, som dessutom gjorde sin första match efter en tumskada.

 

Vindrarp slutade femma förra säsongen, medan Göteborg tog tredjeplatsen -  ett motstånd vi ska kunna hantera, men som ändå kräver fullt fokus för att behålla kontrollen över matchen.

 

Dam Elit - Lindesberg

Efter Herr A var det dags för Dam Elit att kliva in på planen för sin hemmapremiär!

 

Läktarna fylldes av 135 åskådare, vilket är en fantastisk publiksiffra - stort tack till alla som kom och hejade!

 

Motståndet stod Lindesberg för, ett lag som på pappret är väldigt jämnt med oss. Våra elitdamer började starkt och tog första set med 25-13. Det såg länge ut som en klar seger, men Lindesberg svarade direkt och tog andra set med 23-25.

 

Göteborg tog tillbaka initiativet i tredje set med övertygande 25 - 14, men sedan blev det dramatik på hög nivå -  matchen gick till fem set. Till slut drog Lindesberg det längsta strået och vann med 21- 25 och 12- 15.

Det var en tuff förlust, särskilt efter en så stark start och mycket bra spel, men laget tog med sig många positiva saker inför kommande matcher.

 

Dam B - Kronan

Samtidigt som dramatiken pågick i Valhalla var våra Dam B iväg på bortamatch mot Kronan.
Tyvärr blev det en 3-1 förlust, men laget lyfter sitt försvarsspel som matchens stora styrka. De menar själva att egna misstag satte käppar i hjulet, men att grunderna börjar sitta allt bättre.

Lördag 18 Oktober 

FU20 - Hemmapremiär i Valhalla
Motstånd: Habo C och Alingsås

 

För FU20 var det dags för hemmapremiär, där de välkomnade både Habo C och Alingsås till Valhalla. Resultatet blev en vinst och en förlust.

Mot Habo C blev det tufft motstånd. Habo visade på stor styrka både i anfall och försvar och vann matchen med 3–0 (17–25, 13–25, 17–25). Göteborgstjejerna kämpade väl men fick se sig besegrade av ett starkare lag den här gången – en match som gav värdefull erfarenhet inför framtiden.

 

Mot Alingsås var det däremot en helt annan matchbild. FU20 höll taktpinnen från start till slut och vann övertygande med 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-21).

 

 Fotograf och media ansvariga Sofias reflektion: Jag var på plats och fotade matchen mot Habo C, och det var väldigt roligt att se många av tjejerna jag tidigare har coachat i Göteborg Volley. Det är fantastiskt att se hur de har växt både på och utanför planen. Att så många väljer att fortsätta sin volleybollresa hos oss betyder mycket – det är inget vi tar för givet. Vi uppskattar verkligen alla som vill vara en del av vår blåvita familj. 

 

Dam B -  Hemmamatch mot Hylte/Halmstad
Resultat: 1- 3

Dam B tog emot Hylte/Halmstad på hemmaplan och visade upp fint spel, särskilt i försvar och anfall. Trots flera starka prestationer slutade matchen tyvärr med 3-1 till Hylte/Halmstad.

En tuff förlust, men många bra sekvenser att bygga vidare på.

 

Söndag 19 Oktober 

Dam Elit – Bortamatch mot Lund
Resultat: 1- 3

Elitlaget reste till Lund med målet att ta poäng och inledningen lovade gott. Första set blev en jämn historia som Lund knep med 26–24, men Göteborg svarade starkt i andra och vann med 25 -17. Därefter tappade laget sin energi och förlorade de två avslutande seten med 17–25 och 14 - 25.

 

Spelarna själva beskriver matchen som en påminnelse om lagets stora potential – men också om vikten av att hålla fokus genom hela matchen.

Kapten Sofie, även utsedd till matchens MVP, säger:

”Vi gör vissa saker riktigt bra, men vi behöver träna ihop oss mer för att hitta stabilitet och ett jämnt spel genom hela matchen. Vi behöver också mentalt vilja vinna, våga ta plats och orka hålla vår högsta nivå hela vägen. Lund gör en bra match, men vi har mer att ge. Nu handlar det om att ladda om och fortsätta utvecklas tillsammans.”

En tung förlust - men också ett steg på vägen mot den nivå laget vet att de kan nå.

Lördag 25 Oktober

 Bortaresa till RIG Falköping - Dam Elit & Dam B

Den 26 oktober åkte både Dam B och Dam Elit till Falköping för att möta RIG:s A- och B-lag.

 

Dam B - mot RIG B

Matchen mot RIG Falköping B slutade med 3-0 förlust.
Laget beskriver motståndet som för starkt i alla delar av spelet och att de själva inte nådde upp till sin högsta nivå den här gången. En tuff match – men också en chans att lära och bygga vidare inför kommande omgångar.

 

Dam Elit -  mot RIG 

Elitlaget stod för en dramatisk och svängig match mot RIG som slutade 3–2 till RIG. Göteborg tar därmed med sig 1 poäng hem.

En av matchens höjdpunkter var det otroliga fjärde setet där Göteborg låg under med 10–19, men lyckades vända och vinna setet med 25–20 – en stark laginsats och ett bevis på riktig kämpaglöd!

Det avgörande femte setet blev en riktig rysare, men RIG drog det längsta strået och vann med 18–16.

 

Tränare Eusebio kommenterar:

“For me as a coach it’s wonderful to see how players come in from the bench and perform well, it means a lot for the team.”

Trots förlusten finns mycket positivt att ta med sig – laget visar tydligt att de kan stå upp mot riktigt starkt motstånd.

Herr B -  Dubbelvinst och klättring i tabellen

Våra Herr B fortsätter att imponera!
Innan helgens matcher hade de redan två raka vinster i bagaget  och sviten fortsatte.

Först besegrade de Värnamo med 3–0, och senare samma dag tog de ytterligare en seger mot Trollhättan med 3–1.

Två matcher - två vinster - 6 nya poäng!
Herr B avslutar dagen på en andra plats i tabellen med totalt 11 poäng, efter en otroligt stark start på säsongen.

 

Söndag 26 Oktober

 Herr A -  Seger i rysaren mot Falkenberg

Under söndagen reste Herr A till Falkenberg för att möta nykomlingarna i serien – och det blev en oerhört spännande match som slutade med 3-2 seger till Göteborg!

Inför säsongen hade lagen redan mötts i en träningsmatch, och Herr A beskriver nu att Falkenberg utvecklats rejält sedan dess. Det var ett helt annat lag de ställdes mot denna gång - betydligt mer samspelt och svårspelat.

Trots hårt motstånd visade Göteborg sin rutin och sitt tempo, något som till slut blev avgörande. I det femte och avgörande setet gick laget upp till en 7-0 ledning, och kunde sedan säkra segern med 15-6.

En välförtjänt seger och ytterligare ett kvitto på lagets styrka under säsongsinledningen! 

 

3-Kungaslaget för FU20, PU20 och FU16 - Läs enskild nyhet

 1–2 november

Helgen 1–2 november var en spelledig helg på grund av U23-SM, som Göteborg tyvärr inte skickade något lag till i år. Det är dock något vi definitivt har som mål och förhoppning framöver – att kunna representera Göteborg Volley även i U23-SM framöver.

Lördag 8 November

Full fart i Valhalla och Idrottshögskolan

8-9 Novembervar det desto mer liv i hallarna! Både Valhalla och Idrottshögskolan var fulla av matcher, energi och blåvita insatser.

 

Dam B - Mot Gislaved B

I Idrottshögskolan inledde Dam B helgen med match mot Gislaved B. Matchen blev en riktig nagelbitare som till slut slutade 3–2 till Gislaveds fördel.

Från sidan av planen syntes en tydlig skillnad jämfört med tidigare matcher – spelarna hade roligt!
Det märktes att när laget spelar avslappnat och med glädje så höjer de sig rejält. Trots förlusten var känslan positiv efteråt, och laget är så nära sin första seger nu!

 

Dam Elit - Mot Hylte/Halmstad

Efter Dam B var det Elitlagets tur att ta över planen i Idrottshögskolan. Motståndet var ingen mindre än Hylte/Halmstad, som fram till nu gått obesegrade.

Ärligt talat - förväntningarna på en seger var låga, men kampviljan var desto större. Och som laget kämpade!

De första två seten slutade 21–25 och 18–25, men i tredje set exploderade energin. Göteborg tog hem setet med 25–21 och hela hallen kokade! Publiken stod upp, spelarna skrek av glädje – och laget visade att de verkligen kan störa även de bästa.

Hylte/Halmstad vann till slut matchen med 3-1, men känslan i laget var ändå nästan som en seger.

 

Sammanfattning

Både Dam Elit och Dam B visade den här helgen vad volleyboll egentligen handlar om -  glädje, lagkänsla och kämpaglöd.
Trots tuffa motståndare var stämningen på topp, och det syntes tydligt: när våra lag har roligt på planen, spelar de också som bäst. 

 

I valhalla spelade vårt FU20 Akademilag som tog hem båda vinsterna. 

FU20 - VK Bjärke 3-0 

FU20 - Majorna VBK B 3-1 

 

Söndag 9 november

Både Herr B och Dam C spelade  och båda lagen tog hem sina matcher! 

 

Dam C levererade i Valhalla och tog hem en stabil seger med full pott poäng. Laget visar tydligt att de är på rätt väg och fortsätter växa för varje match.

Dam C - Gråå BK 3-0 (25-16, 25-27, 25-25)

Dam C - Ravens Sports Club 3-0 (25-18, 27-25, 25-18)

 

Herr B - Segertåget fortsätter

Herr B fortsätter sin imponerande svit och vinner seriefinalen mot VK Block, vilket innebär att de nu är serieledare med 17 poäng och dessutom obesegrade!

 

Detta är en helt fantastisk prestation - särskilt med tanke på att laget förra säsongen slutade på åttonde plats med totalt 18 poäng.
Nu, bara några matcher in på säsongen, står de redan på 17 poäng och har vunnit alla sina matcher.

Utvecklingen är enorm, och att flera unga spelare har tagit plats i laget gör framgången ännu mer glädjande. Det visar verkligen på en ljus framtid för vår herrsida!

Elitdamerna glänser i statistiken 

En sak vi verkligen vill lyfta är att flera av våra elitdamer kliver fram i statistiken i Elitserien – något som visar vilket hårt arbete och vilken utveckling som sker i laget just nu!

 

 Ella Gonton toppar poängligan med 5,5 poäng per set och totalt 99 poäng hittills.
Ella Ek regerar på servelinjen med 14 servess och en imponerande 0,93 ess per set.
Maja Jepson ligger med som andrepassare i ”Veckans lag” på Elitseriens hemsida.
Sofie Sjöberg är listad som första libero i bästa laget och briljerar dessutom som mottagningsdrottning med hela 59 % positiva servemottagningar.

 

Vi är otroligt stolta över alla våra spelare och lag som visar framfötterna – inte bara på planen genom sin volleybollkunskap, utan också genom sitt engagemang och lagarbete i hela klubben.

 

Under helgen 8–9 november hade vi hela åtta hemmamatcher, vilket kräver mycket planering, samarbete och lagkänsla och det fixade vi tillsammans. 

 

Ett stort tack till alla Göteborg Volley-medlemmar, till funktionärer, tränare och publik som stöttar, hejar och bidrar till den fantastiska stämningen i hallarna.

Tillsammans fortsätter vi bygga vår blåvita volleybollfamilj!

Saturday, October 11

Herr A - Vindrarps VK
Result: 3-1 to Göteborg
Herr A started the day with a strong performance against Vindrarp. Göteborg won the first two sets 25-19 and 25-18. In the third set, the team lost some focus and lost 19-25, but came back and secured the win in the fourth set.

 

Player of the match: Albin Tholin, who also played his first match after a thumb injury.

 

Vindrarp finished fifth last season, while Göteborg took third place – opposition we should be able to handle, but which still requires full focus to maintain control of the match.

 

Dam Elit - Lindesberg
After Herr A, it was time for Dam Elit to step onto the court for their home debut!

 

The stands were filled with 135 spectators, which is a fantastic crowd - a huge thank you to everyone who came and cheered!

 

The opposition was Lindesberg, a team on paper very evenly matched with us. Our elite ladies started strong and took the first set 25-13. It looked for a while like a clear victory, but Lindesberg responded immediately and took the second set 23-25.

 

Göteborg regained the initiative in the third set with an impressive 25-14, but then the drama escalated - the match went to five sets. In the end, Lindesberg took the longest straw and won 21-25 and 12-15.

 

It was a tough loss, especially after such a strong start and very good play, but the team took many positive things with them for upcoming matches.

 

Dam B - Kronan
At the same time as the drama unfolded in Valhalla, our Dam B team was away for a match against Kronan.

Unfortunately, it ended with a 3–1 loss, but the team highlights their defense as the biggest strength of the match. They themselves say that their own mistakes got in the way, but that the fundamentals are starting to come together better.

Saturday, October 18

FU20 - Home Debut in Valhalla
Opponents: Habo C and Alingsås

For FU20, it was time for their home debut, welcoming both Habo C and Alingsås to Valhalla. The result was a win and a loss.

Against Habo C, it was tough opposition. Habo showed great strength in both attack and defense and won the match 3–0 (17–25, 13–25, 17–25).

 

The Göteborg girls fought well but were defeated by a stronger team this time – a match that gave valuable experience for the future. 

 

Against Alingsås, however, the match looked completely different. FU20 controlled the game from start to finish and won convincingly 3–0 (25–20, 25–23, 25–21).

I was on site photographing the match against Habo C, and it was really fun to see many of the girls I have previously coached at Göteborg Volley. It is fantastic to see how they have grown both on and off the court. That so many choose to continue their volleyball journey with us means a lot – it is not something we take for granted. We truly appreciate everyone who wants to be part of our blue-and-white family.

 

Dam B - Home Match against Hylte/Halmstad
Result: 1–3
Dam B hosted Hylte/Halmstad at home and showed nice play, especially in defense and attack. Despite several strong performances, the match unfortunately ended 3–1 in favor of Hylte/Halmstad.

A tough loss, but many good sequences to build on.

 

Sunday, October 19

Dam Elit - Away Match against Lund
Result: 1-3
The elite team traveled to Lund with the goal of taking points, and the start looked promising. The first set was a close affair which Lund took 26-24, but Göteborg responded strongly in the second and won 25-17. After that, the team lost energy and lost the two remaining sets 17-25 and 14-25.

The players themselves describe the match as a reminder of the team’s great potential -  but also of the importance of keeping focus throughout the match.

 

Captain Sofie, also named player of the match, says:

"We do some things really well, but we need to train together more to find stability and consistent play throughout the match. We also need to mentally want to win, dare to take space, and maintain our highest level all the way. Lund plays a good match, but we have more to give. Now it’s about recharging and continuing to develop together."

A heavy loss -  but also a step towards the level the team knows they can reach.

Saturday, October 25

Away Trip to RIG Falköping - Dam Elit & Dam B
On October 25, both Dam B and Dam Elit traveled to Falköping to face RIG’s A - and B-teams.

Dam B - against RIG B
The match against RIG Falköping B ended with a 3–0 loss.
The team describes the opposition as too strong in all parts of the game and that they themselves did not reach their highest level this time. A tough match - but also a chance to learn and build for future rounds.

 

Dam Elit - against RIG
The elite team played a dramatic and swinging match against RIG, which ended 3-2 to RIG. Göteborg thus brought home 1 point.

One of the highlights of the match was the incredible fourth set, where Göteborg was down 10-19, but managed to turn it around and win the set 25-20 - a strong team effort and proof of true fighting spirit!

The decisive fifth set was a real thriller, but RIG took the longest straw and won 18-16.

 

Coach Eusebio comments:

"For me as a coach it’s wonderful to see how players come in from the bench and perform well, it means a lot for the team."

Despite the loss, there is much positive to take away - the team clearly shows they can stand up to very strong opposition.

 

Herr B - Double Win and Climbing the Table
Our Herr B continues to impress!
Before the weekend’s matches, they already had two consecutive wins in their pocket - and the streak continued.

First, they defeated Värnamo 3-0, and later the same day they won again against Trollhättan 3-1.
Two matches -  two wins - 6 new points!
Herr B ends the day in second place in the table with 11 points, after an incredibly strong start to the season.

 

Sunday, October 26

Herr A - Thriller Victory against Falkenberg
On Sunday, Herr A traveled to Falkenberg to face the newcomers in the league - and it became an incredibly exciting match that ended in a 3-2 victory for Göteborg!

 

Before the season, the teams had already met in a friendly match, and Herr A now describes Falkenberg as having developed significantly since then. It was a completely different team they faced this time - much more coordinated and difficult to play against.

 

Despite tough opposition, Göteborg showed their experience and tempo, which ultimately proved decisive. In the fifth and decisive set, the team went up 7-0 and then secured the win 15-6.

 

A well-deserved victory and another confirmation of the team’s strength at the start of the season!

November 1-2

The weekend of November 1-2 was a rest weekend due to the U23-SM, which Göteborg unfortunately did not send a team to this year. However, it is definitely a goal and hope for the future - to be able to represent Göteborg Volley in U23-SM.

Saturday, November 8

Full Speed in Valhalla and Idrottshögskolan
On November 8-9, the halls were full of matches, energy, and blue-and-white efforts.

 

Dam B - Against Gislaved B
In Idrottshögskolan, Dam B started the weekend with a match against Gislaved B. The match was a real nail-biter and ended 3-2 in Gislaved’s favor.

From the side of the court, a clear difference compared to previous matches could be seen -  the players were having fun!

It is evident that when the team plays relaxed and with joy, they perform significantly better. Despite the loss, the feeling afterward was positive, and the team is very close to their first win now!

 

Dam Elit - Against Hylte/Halmstad
After Dam B, it was the elite team’s turn to take the court in Idrottshögskolan. The opposition was Hylte/Halmstad, who had been unbeaten until now.

 

Honestly, expectations for a win were low, but the fighting spirit was greater. And how the team fought!

The first two sets ended 21-25 and 18-25, but in the third set the energy exploded. Göteborg took the set 25-21 and the whole hall went wild! The audience stood, the players cheered, and the team showed that they could really shake even the best.

 

Hylte/Halmstad eventually won 3-1, but the feeling in the team was almost like a victory.

 

Summary
Both Dam Elit and Dam B showed this weekend what volleyball is really about - fun, team spirit, and fighting spirit.

Despite tough opponents, the atmosphere was at its best, and it was clear: when our teams have fun on the court, they play their best.

In Valhalla, our FU20 Academy team also played and won both matches:

FU20 - VK Bjärke 3-0
FU20 - Majorna VBK B 3-1

 

Sunday, November 9

Both Herr B and Dam C played, and both teams won their matches!

Dam C delivered in Valhalla and took a solid victory with full points. The team clearly shows that they are on the right path and continue to grow with every match.

Herr B - The Winning Streak Continues

Herr B continues their impressive streak and wins the league final against VK Block, which means they are now league leaders with 17 points and also undefeated!

 

This is a truly fantastic achievement - especially considering the team last season finished in eighth place with 18 points.

Now, just a few matches into the season, they already have 17 points and have won all their matches.

The development is enormous, and that several young players have taken their place in the team makes the success even more gratifying. It really shows a bright future for our men’s side!

The Elite Ladies Shine in the Statistics 🌟

 

One thing we really want to highlight is that several of our elite ladies are standing out in the statistics in the Elitserien -  showing the hard work and development happening in the team right now! 

• Ella Gonton tops the scoring table with 5.5 points per set and a total of 99 points so far.

• Ella Ek dominates on serves with 14 aces and an impressive 0.93 aces per set.

• Maja Jepson is listed as setter in “Team of the Week” on the Elitserien website.

• Sofie Sjöberg is listed as first libero in the best team and also shines as reception queen with 59% positive serve receptions.

We are incredibly proud of all our players and teams who are stepping up - not only on the court with their volleyball skills, but also through their engagement and teamwork throughout the club.

 

During the weekend of November 8-9, we had eight home matches, which requires a lot of planning, cooperation, and team spirit - and we managed it together.

 

A big thank you to all Göteborg Volley members, staff, coaches, and fans who support, cheer, and contribute to the fantastic atmosphere in the halls.
