Pressat läge i Herr A – Eusebio om förändringarna i laget

Herr A har gått från att vinna nästan alla sina matcher och vara med i toppen av tabellen till att förlora samtliga av sina senaste möten. De två senaste matcherna spelades visserligen mot Habo Volley, en klubb känd för sin höga nivå i alla sina lag, men våra Herr A brukar kunna utmana även dem.

Vad är det egentligen som har hänt med våra Herr A? Eusebio förklarar:

Lagets sammansättning har förändrats mycket. Två av våra starkaste startspelare har på kort tid lämnat laget, först Elias Lindh som åkte på en lång resa, det är osäkert om han kommer tillbaka till laget under 2026. Sedan Martin Quintanilla som signade med elitlaget Floby VK under november månad. Vi har en stor trupp men dessa två förluster har tyvärr påverkat lagets prestation under matcherna. Nu återstår en yngre och mindre erfaren grupp, där vi försöker hitta vår identitet igen med de spelare vi har.

I samband med skiftet har våra taktiska val förändrats och vi har behövt anpassa oss till att vårt anfall inte är lika starkt som tidigare. Vi har de flesta träningar högt fokus på anfall eftersom det är det område vi tappat mest. Lagsammansättningen förändras alltid när viktiga spelare lämnar, men det är en naturlig process och vi anpassar oss bra.

Som spelande coach är detta ingen lätt situation. Jag försöker hålla mig lugn och ge laget struktur. På planen gör jag mitt bästa för att hjälpa mina lagkamrater att spela bra; jag försöker leda genom exempel. Situationen är inte ideal men vi försöker hålla gruppen fokuserad och arbeta i samma riktning.

Planen framöver är att bygga upp laget igen med de spelare vi har och hjälpa dem växa in i sina nya roller. Några av dem bär ett stort offensivt ansvar även om de kom till oss nyligen från lägre divisioner, och det tar tid. Vi behöver ha tålamod i processen. Om vi håller ihop och fortsätter träna bra tror jag resultaten kommer tillbaka steg för steg.

Det är onekligen en utmanande situation våra Herr A befinner sig i. Tidigare har laget haft en tydlig styrka både i försvar och anfall, men just nu svajar det på båda sidor av spelet. I klubben har vi stora ambitioner för vårt herrlag, men verkligheten är att det just nu inte ser ljust ut, och kanske inte heller kommer göra det under säsongen 25/26.

Samtidigt är detta en naturlig del av resan för klubbar där spelarna inte har ekonomisk ersättning för att stanna kvar och där vi ännu inte konkurrerar på den allra högsta nivån i Sverige. Lag förändras, spelare tar nya steg i sina karriärer och nya spelare växer in i större roller. Det tar tid.

Den här utmaningen är en del av vår resa. Kulturen vi bygger nu kommer att forma det lag vi blir i framtiden.

Herr A have gone from winning almost all their matches and competing at the top of the table to losing all of their recent games. The last two matches were played against Habo Volley, a club known for its high level in all their teams, but our Herr A are usually able to challenge them.

What has actually happened to our Herr A? Eusebio explains:

The composition of the team has changed a lot. Two of our strongest starting players have left the team in a short period of time. First, Elias Lindh, who went on a long trip, and it is uncertain if he will return to the team during 2026. Then, Martin Quintanilla, who signed with the elite team Floby VK in November. We have a large squad, but these two losses have unfortunately affected our performance during the matches. What remains is a younger and less experienced group, and we are trying to find our identity again with the players we have.

Along with this shift, our tactical choices have changed, and we have had to adapt to the fact that our attack is not as strong as before. We spend most training sessions with a strong focus on attack because that is the area we have lost the most. The composition of the team always changes when important players leave, but it is a natural process and we are adapting well.

As a playing coach, this is not an easy situation. I try to stay calm and give the team structure. On the court, I do my best to help my teammates play well; I try to lead by example. The situation is not ideal, but we are trying to keep the group focused and working in the same direction.

The plan moving forward is to rebuild the team with the players we have and help them grow into their new roles. Some of them carry a large offensive responsibility even though they recently joined us from lower divisions, and that takes time. We need to be patient with the process. If we stay together and continue training well, I believe the results will return step by step.

It is undoubtedly a challenging situation for our Herr A. In previous seasons, the team has had a clear strength in both defense and attack, but right now both areas are unstable. The club has big ambitions for our men’s team, but the reality is that things do not look promising at the moment, and maybe will not during the 25/26 season either.

At the same time, this is a natural part of the journey for clubs where players do not have financial incentives to stay, and where we are not yet competing at the highest level in Sweden. Teams change, players take new steps in their careers, and new players grow into larger roles. It takes time.

This challenge is part of our journey. The culture we build now will define the team we become in the future.
