Oscar, Emil, Jesper 3xSweden running target men day 3
The Swedish Cup running target competition – also known as moving target – delivered three different winners in the men’s class over the course of three days, underlining the high level and fierce competition in the discipline.
After Finnish shooter Henri Karlsson and Hylte’s Jesper Nyberg had taken top honours earlier in the competition, it was Emil Martinsson who stepped forward on the final day. Martinsson first eliminated Henri Karlsson with an 8–6 victory in the semifinal, before going on to defeat Oscar Eliasson by the same scoreline, 8–6, in the final.
Oscar Eliasson had previously advanced by edging out Jesper Nyberg 6–4 in his semifinal. Nyberg then responded strongly in the bronze medal match, defeating Karlsson 6–3 to secure a place on the podium. The final day thus ended with an all-Swedish podium in the men’s class.
In the women’s competition, Finland’s Ida Heikkilä continued her winning streak, claiming gold after a tight 9–7 final against Heili Lepp of Estonia. Sweden’s Louise Samuelsson, from Rimforsa, secured the bronze medal with a convincing 6–2 victory over Finland’s Jenni Seikkula.
The men’s junior event once again produced a brotherly showdown. This time, Wilmer Wilkman emerged victorious, defeating his brother William Wilkman 6–0 in the final. The bronze medal went to Norway’s André Risto, who prevailed 6–4 over Finland’s Vili Vilken in the bronze match.
With that, the running target competitions were brought to a close at this year’s Swedish Cup, rounding off three days of intense and memorable battles on the moving target range
