As Swedish Cup Day 3 got underway at the Sävsjö Shooting Centre, Sampo Voutilainen once again underlined his dominance in the men’s pistol competition.
Voutilainen topped the qualification round with an impressive 577 points, finishing three points clear of second place. The authority continued in the final, where he took an early lead with 51.3 points after five shots and extended it to 100.4 after ten.
Although the margins tightened toward the end, Voutilainen held his nerve and secured the victory by 0.6 points. He finished on 237.4 points, ahead of Erik Eknes of Kisen, Norway, on 236.8. Ole Harald Aas, also from Norway, completed the podium in third place.
Thörnkvist Claims Another Women’s Final Victory
In the women’s competition, Krisztina Komaromi of Lövsta posted the highest qualification score with 568 points, but was eliminated early in the final.
Instead, it was Emelie Fält of Umeå who took early control, leading with 48.2 points after five shots and 98.6 after ten. As the final moved into the shot-by-shot phase, however, the momentum shifted.
Josefine Thörnkvist of Zinkgruvan steadily advanced and eventually pulled clear, finishing on 235.5 points. She won by a comfortable margin of 4.4 points ahead of Vilja Ahokangas of Finland, with Ann Helen Aune of Mysen taking third place.
Thomsson Climbs to the Top in the Men’s Junior Class
In the men’s junior competition, Christian Sternbrink of Salem won the qualification with 569 points, five ahead of Ture Thomsson of Krysseboda. The final, however, told a different story.

Björkås Torgersen Untouchable in Women’s Junior Pistol
Once again, Ane Björkås Torgersen of Sola, Norway, proved to be in a class of her own in the women’s junior competition. She dominated the qualification round with 578 points, a commanding 19-point margin.
The final followed the same pattern. Björkås Torgersen won convincingly with 240.4 points, ahead of Eline Melkild Aalmo on 233.1. Nova Möllerstedt of Ljungbyhed finished third.
Wadman Doubles Up in the Veterans’ Class
There was no final in the veterans’ class on Day 3, but Göran Wadman of Östhammar claimed his second consecutive victory with 572 points. He finished ahead of Ingar Woll of Bærum on 567, with Anders Norberg of Mjölby taking third on 556 points.
With that, the pistol competitions at the Swedish Cup come to a close, as attention now turns to rifle and running target finals for the remainder of the day.
