Running Lights 10km (Alingsås, Sweden)
Last quick session before "The big race" ...
5th woman and 42:06 on arrival ... not bad ... except that the plan was not quite that ...
Elliot had kindly accepted to act as a pacesetter in order to cross the finish line in 42-43 minutes. But 44 minutes would have been ok too. Thinking I have a big race in a week and he has a school race two days later.
A bit of warm up. Last kisses to G & T. Headed to the start line. And hop ... no more Elliot... My first km ended in 4:00 being too fast, so decided to slow down. Always keeping a girl within reach of my strides in the darkness. I passed her before the 4th km and after that, I kept my position until the end.
Ideal weather. Running in the night is not great for a race, especially on cobblestones. But the passages where the road was lined with lanterns it was great 😊
Very happy with the final time. Effort a little higher than I would have liked, but ok. One more week of rest.
The pride of the day being the times and place of Elliot in 39:23 - 9th men and just 2 minutes after the 2nd elite woman and 1 minute before the 3rd woman (who arrived in over 40minutes). There is potential ... (but not as my personal pacesetter 😂). Especially when he did not look that tired after his final sprint...
Alingsåsklassikern: completed !!!

World championships number 2: still warming up .... !!! 😋
