Tyreso Game Preview
It was nice to have two weeks to enjoy our opening day victory, but we have got to get back to action this week. It seems like Tyreso is one of the top teams in the league at this point, and they will provide us with a good test, no doubt. We willl have to do a better job taking care of the football (3 turnovers versus Arlanda) if we want to win. We are going to ask our defense to disrupt their offense and get the ball back to our offense.
TRC Post Game
We lost 38-21 yesterday. We were able to make some good plays in all 3 phases of the game. (offense, defense & sp. teams) We were beat by the better team yesterday, but we will continue to improve. The loss has taught us just how far we need to go to compete in our league this year. I was impressed by the way we presented ourselves before, during, and after the game.
It’s rare to see a team so rich in talent and so poor in sportsmanship. Taking cheap-shots and trash talking is part of Tyreso’s repertoire, but it takes a disgraceful coward to spit on another person. Maybe TRC’s coaches don’t encourage this type of stuff, but they certainly condone it. They will go on to win many more games, but I doubt they’ll be able to earn much respect.
Our defense did a great job of forcing several turnovers, but we still had problems staying disciplined in pass coverage and allowed them a few cheap TD's. They ran the ball pretty hard and next time we will need to do a better job of bringing the runner down to the ground.
Because of injuries to some of our runningbacks we were forced to throw a lot of passes. We faced very tight coverage and only had a few chances to throw to open receivers. The offensive line played really well and a few of our receivers had good days. We had several dropped passes that could have provided us with a few more points.
MVP Offense: Ethan Haller
MVP Defense: Stew Myers
