Uppsala Preview
Uppsala has a good, solid team. They don´t do too many fancy things and they don´t have too many big-name players, but they are a quality team. Offensively, they run a traditional I formation with big linemen and a good set of backs. They do throw the ball and the Qb is mobile. We will need to take out their run game first. If we are able to do that, it will be easier to stop play action pass.
They have a big group of defensive linemen and some good defensive backs. We don´t have too many tricks on offense - our receivers need to find the open spots and catch the ball, linemen need to block.
Uppsala Post Game
We had a convincing victory versus Uppsala yesterday after a pretty tight first half. Uppsala showed why they have been able to compete with teams in the Super Series. They played with a lot of heart and managed to come up with some nice plays (some of which were called back because of penalty).
We played well enough to score 40 points against a good defensive line and secondary. We had some problems with pass protection, but did better with limiting our turnovers. We still have a lot of room for improvement. It was nice to have a little bit of a run-game working and helped us to be more balanced.
Our kickoff, return, and punt teams had good days, but we took a step backwards with our field goal unit.
On defense, our secondary had a pretty good day, didn't allow many deep passes and made a few INT's. We had our ups & downs defending the run, but forced some fumbles, played good on the goal line and red zone.
