Stockholm Pre Game

Last Week:
Last weekend was a success. Our defense dominated the line of scrimmage versus Arlanda and we were able to keep their American Qb/Receiver duo in check for most of the game. We created several turnovers and held them to one offensive score. Our offenses started slowly, but we caught our rhythm right before halftime and continued scoring points in the second half.
Our offense:
Stockholm has some good names on their defensive roster and we will not take our opponent lightly. This is a "city game" against an important team in the Super Series, and the chance to compete with them is something we take seriously. This weekend we will see exactly what kind of offensive team we are. We had far too many dropped passes and penalties last weekend and we must be more disciplined versus Stockholm. We've had 3-4 really good practices and we are anxious to play up to our potential.
Our defense:
Our defense should be in good shape for this game, we will have most of our starters ready for action. Stockholm has always had a good offensive line and a physical attitude when it comes to running the ball. We must be prepared to be tested with that style of football. They have a dual-threat Qb who is difficult to defend, we will need to have good effort through the whole play to minimize his effectiveness as a scrambler.
Keys to victory:
The absolute key will be to contain their Stockholm's very mobile Qb. He is quick enough to make some of the best defenses look poor. We will need to adjust our offense and decision making in a way that allows us to take advantage of Stockholm's weaknesses defensively.

Stockholm came out on offense and moved the ball downfield with some physical running and proved they were ready to play. We ended up stopping them before they reached the end zone, and our offense immediately took over possession of the ball and completed a very long pass for a quick touchdown. The first quarter was more of the same, our offense scored two more quick touchdowns and the first half closed with us in clear control of the game.
In the second half, Stockholm continued to play hard and we were able to use all of our players who dressed. I felt like our defense played well, and accomplished what we set out to do, not allow their quarterback to escape for long gains. Offensively, I was very pleased with our patience and efficiency in the passing game, but we still have to continue to develop a solid running game.
