Pregame Report – Week # 2 Uppsala

Last week’s match
We''ve had a few weeks off since our last game, a victory in the season-opener. We feel very good about starting the season with a win and winning always gives a little extra confidence. We''ve had a long time to prepare for the 86ers and we learned a lot about ourselves since our last game.
Our defense
I was impressed with the play-making ability of our starting group of defenders last week and I am excited about them making more strides this week. Defense is attitude and this year we have several guys that like to run, hit and compete. This group should continue to impress. We will need to identify the key players for the 86ers and keep them contained.
Our offense
We scored enough touchdowns versus Limhamn to feel confident in our ability to make big plays and score points fast when needed. Our offensive line is durable and work well together, and we have skill and speed at the receiver positions. We''ll try to find the weakness of the 86ers defense and attack them with some of our best stuff.
Keys to victory
We will need to take care of the football offensively, Game # 1 we turned the ball over 4 times, that makes games hard to win. Teamwork is going to be important, we''ll take the approach each week that anybody can be the hero, and I won''t be mad if it is a new guy each week! Defensively, we will need to stop the balanced 86er attack. We know they have talent at Qb, Rb, and receiver and we''ll need to hold their playmakers in check.

We felt good about our chances coming into the game but Uppsala played a well and they deserved to win on Friday.
We started the game well on offense and defense, the first quarter saw us picking up the occasional big play on offense and defensively we forced them into several punts. For most of the first half, the game felt like it could go either way if we could find our way into the end zone.
Inconsistency continued to be our problem on offense and we struggled to find a running game or connect on our passes. Eventually, the 86ers offense was able to wear down our defense and start accumulating points. The defense put in a good day''s work, picking off 3 passes, we also played well on special teams.
