Women As first games of the season are now played!🌟

How much drama can you pack into a season opener? Well, anyone who watched our first matchday in Kungsbacka against VK Westan and Trollhättan VK has the answer.

In the very first set against VK Westan, we trailed for a while before powering through with strong attacks to grab the set win. Our attackers then pulled out some proper Gothia slams, and suddenly we were cruising at 2:0. But momentum is a fickle friend - the focus slipped, Westan fought back, and the tiebreak turned into a real nail-biter. With great fighting spirit we even had match point on our hands… only to lose heartbreakingly 17:19 in the fifth set.

MVP: Bella, Middle

That exhaustion carried over into the second game against Trollhättan VK. Our reception steadily improved, and in the third set we finally found better solutions in attack. But despite fantastic and creative vocal support from both the bench and our traveling fans, it was only enough for a consolation set. The game ended 3:1 to Trollhättan.

MVP: Chiara, Libero

Not visible in the standings but definitely on the plus side: four successful debuts from our new players and one comeback, a handful of fresh cheering songs - and the reassuring knowledge that our fighting spirit is still our most reliable weapon 💪

Next stop: October 26 in Falkenberg - with just as much fun, and hopefully a bit more consistency! 🦁💙💛
