A half season analysis by Coach Jason

We took over the team that was on the urge of splitting back in mid February when the troop consisted of no more than 12 loyal players without a coaching team. Today, only four months later and in the middle of the season, we have strategically worked towards securing a strong troop of 22 permanent players and 4 coaching staff.
A silver trophy in HM early in the pre-season plus five very good wins in the current series has positioned us in second place on the tabell with an impressive goal difference of 36/14, just behind BK Häcken.
As we have no F19 team in the club the gap between the Senior and the Junior team is wide, but after a close co-operation through practices and match-time for some of the more developed juniors we have managed to shrink that gap and it has resulted in 8 juniors receiving match time with the Senior team so far with some of them advancing to a regular position.
In the last weeks we have welcomed six ”Torslanda raised” routined and experienced players, connecting to the team as coaching/mentor-player positions which we are highly grateful for. This has widened our age span to the current 16-32 years old creating a new & dynamic player culture within the team, something vital for a continual existence.
Playwise we have adopted to a system after round 3 that suits the new team in connecting the younger and older players together. This change has given direct results through 4 straight match wins and a team spirit that is unbreakable! A further developemt to the excitising system will enable us to prepare for a future advancement to the next series level.
Our plan is to advance up to Division 2 from current Division 3 within a two year period, keep on growing the numbers in the team as well as tighten our relationship with the junior team to enable us to implement a U19 team ”bridging" the juniors & seniors together to make the woman's senior section in Torslanda IK more complete.
I am very satisfied with the first half season of our new exciting journey together and look forward to continue the next half season with a race to a possible advancement.
Happy summer!
