Andrew Beech, Exiles Youth Manager has passed away
5 feb 2021
Andrew Beech passed away earlier yesterday, February 4th.
We got the very sad news today, that Andrew had passed away, after a battle with Covid19, he was 53 years old.
Andrew never played a game for Exiles, but was one of the most dedicated, committed and good natured member of the club. Andrew returned to Sweden 5 years ago, after spending many years in Luxemburg. As a true rugby man, he was involved with the local rugby club.
A short while, after coming to Sweden, he came down to the Stockholm
10´s, offering his services and got involved as one of Exiles youth managers shortly afterwards.
Andrew was always at training, always at the games, always looking to help his team and club. He will be missed.
Allan Mabon
Chairman
Stockholm Exiles RFC
I had the absolute pleasure and honor of working alongside Andrew within the Stockholm Exiles over almost the past two and a half years and he, and myself, made every moment count.
Andrew not only formed an extremely close connection to the club and the rugby community in general but, more importantly, he formed some very close friendships. He often made note of how the Exiles Rugby community made him feel at home!
He was a true champion of the sport, an excellent beer-drinking buddy, an amazing friend but most importantly an unbelievable family man!
While he has been taken from us, we are all lucky to have been able to spend a piece of time with him that will make an ever-lasting impact on his associates, friends and family!
While it hurts everyone now, the positive effect he has had on us all will last forever!

To my friend Andrew Beech.
We met for the first time and as all good stories begin was at a rugby pitch. You made a craic at my beloved Munster jersey not knowing that you opened the door for me to have the laugh back 10 fold.
We use to laugh out loud when I asked him "did he hear me or not understand me" when I asked the under 16s to do something at training. Trying to keep serious was always the hardest thing to do with Andrew around.
We would talk about matches in England and Ireland who we like and did not care for at all. We spoke about his love for the old cars he had and the stories that went with them.
Andrew always had the players first and foremost. The improvement of the player was always his number one aim and he would have no problem pulling a player to the side and giving a little pep talk to a player to turn up the energy. Everyone respected Andrew and that just shows the true character of the man we have lost. All I am doing is echoing what we all think and already know.
An Irish prayer
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always on your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall soft upon your fields. and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
My thoughts are with his family and friends. Gone but never to be forgotten.
Donal Buckley.
